Sod, tree work and drainage in Prosper, Texas
Prosper is almost entirely new construction, and a lot of it sits on bigger lots than the suburbs around it. That changes the size of the job more than anything else.
What Prosper yards deal with
The clay here is the same heavy blackland soil as Frisco and McKinney, and most yards are still on the original builder install — scraped, compacted, and sodded thin. When a Prosper lawn never filled in properly, the prep that got skipped is almost always the reason.
Lot size is the Prosper difference. On the larger lots a full-yard sod job is measured in pallets rather than square feet, and the trees the builder planted are only now getting big enough to need their first structural pruning. Getting that pruning right while the tree is young is far cheaper than fixing a bad split later.

What we do in Prosper
Sod installation — bermuda, zoysia and St. Augustine, with grading and soil prep for the clay. This is the bulk of what we do here.
Tree trimming — structural pruning and canopy thinning, often the actual fix when grass will not grow underneath. Healthy oaks are pruned in December and January because of oak wilt.
Drainage and grading — French drains, regrading and standing-water fixes before new turf goes down.
Tree and stump removal — hazardous leaners, storm damage, and stumps ground below grade.
Prosper note
New sod needs water every day for the first couple of weeks. Check the town’s current watering schedule before your install date, and if restrictions are in place ask about a new-landscape exception before the sod arrives.
