What Frisco yards deal with

Frisco is newer construction on blackland prairie clay. The soil is heavy, swells when wet and shrinks hard when dry, drains slowly, and compacts badly under construction traffic. New sod laid straight onto unamended builder-grade clay struggles to root — prep is not an upsell here, it is the job.

The trees are mostly young. A lot of Frisco was planted in the last twenty-five years, which means live oaks and Shumard oaks just now big enough to need real structural pruning for the first time. There is also a lot of Bradford pear, planted heavily by builders, and it splits at the crotch in high wind almost on schedule.

What we do in Frisco

Sod installation — bermuda, zoysia and St. Augustine, with grading and soil prep for the clay. This is the bulk of what we do here.

Tree trimming — structural pruning and canopy thinning, often the actual fix when grass will not grow underneath. Healthy oaks are pruned in December and January because of oak wilt.

Drainage and grading — French drains, regrading and standing-water fixes before new turf goes down.

Tree and stump removal — hazardous leaners, storm damage, and stumps ground below grade.
